Burn Halo

Burn Halo is an American rock band from Orange County, California. It was formed by James Hart, former lead singer of Eighteen Visions.

History

After the break up of Eighteen Visions in April 2007, frontman James Hart didn't want to quit the music business. His manager set him up with a meeting with Zac Maloy, formerly of The Nixons, and they immediately hit it off. After nearly nine months of writing the record with Maloy and working with Daniel Adair of Nickelback, Chris Chaney of Jane's Addiction, Neal Tiemann, Keith Barney and Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold, they had a full-length debut record. The album was due to be released in 2008 through Island Records, but when the band was finished with the album, Island elected not to release it, leaving the band with a finished album, and no label to release it on. So, Burn Halo's manager started his own label, Rawkhead Rekords, and distributed the record through Warner Music Group.

The lead single from the album, "Dirty Little Girl", ft. Synyster Gates has reached #19 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

In 2008, the song "Save Me", which is the second single, was featured in the video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009.

On March 16, 2009, Burn Halo announced, via MySpace, that Ryan Folden had parted ways with the band and that Timmy Russell would be replacing him on the drums.

Tours

The group is slated to tour with Rev Theory in March 2009, as well as Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Static-X, Papa Roach, and Saliva. They will also be playing at the 2009 edition of Rock on the Range. They have also recently been playing shows with The Used and Korn, with Korn being the headliners. They recently toured with Halestorm and the Veer Union. They are currently on tour with the bands Track Fighter and New Medicine.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
