Cory Batten

Cory Batten was born in 1974 in the small desert town of Tucson Az. Due to the dry desert heat and his endless thirst cory took up swimming in high school. He was part of a silver medal state championship relay team. Following that, having never traveled the circumference of the whole city, but having always wanted to, cory decided to race in the 111 mile tour de tucson bicycle race two years back to back during his college years. After realizing he would never be a professional swimmer (too slow), or cyclist (too slow), cory took up a stationary hobby, singing/songwriting. He graduated college with a degree in psychology (...and yes i have you all figured out ha!) and moved to nashville in 1998 with bunch of songs and a dream. That dream was specifically to write and network in nashville for ten years and then have two hits on the charts "you can let go" crystal shawanda, and "she wouldn't be gone" blake shelton. That dream amazingly came true this year when both happened in 2008. cory is in the beginning stages of recording his own album which will have five hits and five fillers and a picture on the cover that looks much more attractive than he really is. Cory was born premature and that was the last time he was early. His mother was a fitness instructor and dad was in the air-force so yes... he has saluted while wearing tights before. cory lives by one quote.."if you quit you suck, cause there are others who never even get the chance"

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
