Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele

Dent May - is an American musician, based in Taylor, Mississippi. He attended NYU Film School and Ole Miss, where he studied English and Southern Studies, and found his home in the music of Serge Gainsbourg and Lee Hazlewood. May was also a member of a Mississippi power pop group called the Rockwells.

As a kitschy self-styled pop showman, May fronts a four-man indie pop ensemble called Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele, in which he sings and plays the eponymous stringed instrument. The group is signed to Paw Tracks.

A video for the group's recording Oh, Paris! was co-directed by John Rory Fraser and May himself.

Dent May's album The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele was released February 3rd, 2009 on Paw Tracks records.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
