The Destiny Program After releasing a couple of CDs as Destiny, the German band had to change their name due to copyright reasons and are now The Destiny Program. For the first album for their new label (Nuclear Blast) and under their new name, they assembled an all star production team. Anders Friden (In Flames), Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah), Jacob Hansen (Aborted) and Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Himsa) all lent their talents to the project.
The production on Subversive Blueprint is excellent, but the songwriting could be stronger. The Destiny Program are a metalcore group that combines aggressive riffs and shouting vocals with catchy hooks and melodic choruses along with plenty of breakdowns. It's a formula that's been done to death, and the songs aren't memorable enough to set them apart. They do try to add some diversity with a couple of songs that are even more accessible and mainstream, but for metal fans that doesn't really cut it.
