The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada is a christian metalcore band formed in 2005, in Dayton, Ohio. They are currently signed to Ferret Records and have amassed a large underground following on PureVolume and MySpace. Although the band's inspiration for their name was from Lauren Weisberger's novel, The Devil Wears Prada, lead-singer Mike Hranica states this in the band's blog (www.myspace.com/tdwp):

"It's the same concept as our lyrics "emeralds hold no hope" and many many others. What we believe it to mean is that possessions don't matter at all and someday everyone will realize that this is true. When standing before God, He won't care about your sweet Prada scarf or Gucci shoes or whatever. It's a Christian reasoning for the name, we didn't name it to attempt at being fashionable or whatever."

During a recent interview with East Coast Romper, the band has claimed Underoath and Still Remains as their major influences.

The Devil Wears Prada's new album, titled "Plagues", was released on August 21, 2007. A demo song called "Hey John, What's Your Name Again?" was placed on MySpace on July 1, 2007. This song was later to be released as a single and it's video debuted on MTV2 November 2nd, 2007.

As of January 2009, The Devil Wears Prada announced that they had started work on the follow up album for 'Plagues'. They have said that this album 'could quite possibly be the heaviest TDWP yet' and that the CD will be 'out before you know it'.

The Devil Wears Prada is:
Mike Hranica - Vocals/Microphone
Jeremy DePoyster - Guitar/Vocals
James Baney - Keys/Synth
Chris Rubey - Guitar

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
