Does It Offend You, Yeah? is a British electronic rock band from Reading, Berkshire.

History

Does It Offend You, Yeah? formed in Reading, UK in April 2006 and released their first album (You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into) in Spring 2008. They are currently recording their follow up album.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? were the ninth most listened to new band of 2008 on last.fm and were included in the best alternative music list of 2008 on iTunes USA, alongside Foals, MGMT and Santogold.

The band's 2008 debut album You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into was written and performed by James Rushent, Rob Bloomfield and Dan Coop. Additionally, Death From Above 1979 vocalist Sebastien Grainger performed the lead vocals on "Let's Make Out". In 2008 Does It Offend You, Yeah? were accompanied on stage by guitarist Morgan Quaintance. In 2009 Chloe Duveaux (from Elle Milano) and Matty Derham (from Fields) joined the band.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? have been compared by some to dance acts like Daft Punk. Justice and Digitalism. NME compares them to bands like Muse due to their heavier, more "live" sound. The group is known for their raucous live shows, which often end in stage diving and broken instruments.

The band has appeared on US television on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Last Call with Carson Daly. They have also appeared on British television programmes Sound (BBC) and Transmission (Channel 4). They also appeared alongside artists Pharrell Williams, Santogold, Julian Casablancas, MGMT and Karen O as part of The Converse Century Celebration advertising campaign.

Lead singer James Rushent co-produced The Prodigy's "Invaders Must Die" and their top five hit "Omen". Does It Offend You, Yeah? have remixed songs for acts such as Muse, White Stripes and Bloc Party.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
