Roaring out of the East Coast metal underground, Dragpipe harnesses the fuzzed-out fury of stoner rock and the grinding aggression of sludge metal and combines it into one streamlined force of sound. The band's unique sound comes from their three-guitarist assault, as well as the gruff vocals of Jai Diablo and thunderous drumming of Pete Barrera. Formed in Union City, New Jersey, the band played the local scene and gained a strong enough buzz to get the attention of Interscope Records. Signed in 2001, the band stepped into the studio after demoing material with metal luminaries Twiggy Ramirez and Jason Newsted and recorded Music For the Last Day of Your Life. The album came out in the summer of 2002 and was followed by a European tour with Filter.
