Esterlyn is a four-piece independent Christian worship band hailing from Boise, Idaho. The band is headed by Luke Caldwell (vocals/guitar)
The band is named after Caldwell’s niece Esther Lyn who was adopted from China.
Christian Music Today’s Russ Breimeier describes the band’s sound as “melodic indie rock effort reminiscent of The Classic Crime, Ruth, This Beautiful Republic, and Sanctus Real.”
Esterlyn’s first album Lamps was released in February 2008 under the band’s own label “Rooster Records.” It was produced by Jeff Schneeweis and Steve Wilson and features the songs “We All Need”, “Tie The Leaves” and “Kill Your Own Despair.” It is available in only a limited number of stores including Family Christian Store, Indie Vision Music, iTunes, Amazon and the band’s website. The name of the album comes from Matthew 5:16.
Mending the Meaning and acoustic ep was released in early 2009.
Esterlyn we’re selected as part of the 2008 Creation Fest tour which also features Kutless, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Fireflight, KJ52, Run Kid Run and Capital Lights.
