Hombres G

Spanish pop/rock foursome Hombres G was formed by ex-los Residuos guitarist Daniel Mezquita, drummer Javier Molina, and singer/bassist David Summers, soon joined by guitarist Rafael Gutierrez. The band's name was based on an American movie called G-Men. Hombres G made its live debut at Madrid's Rockola, recording a demo called Milagro En El Congo in 1984. They soon signed up to the independent label Twins to make their debut album, featuring a catchy song called "Devuelveme A Mi Chica," which became their first hit. In 1986, La Cagaste...Burt Lancaster was released, followed by a South American tour. Hombres G disbanded after issuing their seventh album, La Historia Del Bikini, in 1992 but reunited ten years later for an international teaser tour for their 2003 release, Ano Que Vivimos Peligrosamente. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide

Update:
The band reunited once again on 2005 for the release and tour of their last album "Todo Esto Es Muy Extraño"
Awesome album, more mature but still spicy, though it has not been well accepted by the fans. The first single from this album, "Porque no ser amigos" featuring Dani Martìn, singer from the Spanish band El Canto Del Loco was a huge success in Spain. These two bands shared an extensive tour inside the country. In July, 2005 in Madrid they played for the biggest show ever for a Spanish artist with 56.000 people.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
