The Hurt Process

The Hurt Process were a British and American metal/rock band. After two top-selling full-lengths, 2004's 'Drive-By Monologue' and 2005's 'A Heartbeat Behind', and a few member changes, the band decided to call it a day in September 2006. They will be sorely missed amongst fans of emotional music and metal alike for their crushing beatdowns and soaring vocal harmonies which manage to draw from influences as varied as Thursday and Killswitch Engage.

The band was originally a six-piece, with a dual-vocal system of harmonised vocals and powerful screams, made up of Mark Andrews and Daniel Lawrence. The guitarists were Tom Diamond and Jordan Schulze, with Duncan McGilvary playing bass and Darren Toms on drums.

Andrews left the band mid-way through their stint on the 2004 Vans Warped Tour, with original drummer Alun Burnet-Smith leaving shortly after their return to the UK. He was soon replaced with a new guitarist, Adam Yeoman, who soon became the band's new drummer. Daniel Lawrence left shortly thereafter, leaving the band as a four-piece in desperate need of a new vocalist. Ivan Ferreira stepped in and the band begun writing as a five-piece, with guitarist Tom Diamond taking on a large amount of the singing responsibilities.

The band enjoyed success in both the UK and America thanks to their labels Golf (in the UK), and Victory (in the US), and toured with such big-name acts as Taking Back Sunday, Underoath and Poison The Well.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
