Ill Niño is a band from New Jersey which combines Latin beats, metal riffs, loud vocals and Latino elements with lyrics on a range of themes, including love, racism and war. It formed in in late 1999 out of lead singer Cristian Machado's band, El Nino. In 2000, they signed to Roadrunner Records, releasing their debut album, Revolution Revolución in 2001 featuring the single What Comes Around, which received heavy MTV2 rotation.
They then released Confession in 2003, with the single How Can I Live, featured on the Freddy vs Jason soundtrack, reaching #26 on the Billboard mainstream rock charts. However, in 2005, the album One Nation Underground failed to chart and the band left Roadrunner Records the following year.
Their new album 'Enigma' was released in 2008.
