Laura Warshauer is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from northern New Jersey. Currently signed by Island Records, her self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on September 23rd, 2008. Warshauer's sound could be described as a blend of pop, rock n’ roll and folk. She was personally signed by Island Records CEO LA Reid in 2007.
Background
Laura began playing guitar at age 12 and has studied with Carlos Alomar (David Bowie's guitarist) and voice with guru Don Lawrence whose clients included Bono, Mick Jagger, and Christina Aguilera.
She released an independent album in 2003. A set of studio tracks produced by Rich Keller were promotionally distributed via FreeIndie.com in August 2006. Her self-titled major-label debut, an eponymous EP, was released on September 23, 2008 in advance of a full-length album due in 2009.
