Letter Day Story

Red Letter Day has been the name of at least eight different bands:

1. A punk band from the Portsmouth region of the UK;

2. a folk/blues band from the Eastern US that consisted of Suzanna Mallow and Andrea Jones (and does not appear to be recording any longer);

3. a hard rock band from the Virginia region of the US that mostly performs live.

4. A pop band from Hamburg, Germany, 1989-1994.

5. A punk rock band from South Florida comprised of ex-members of As Friends Rust, before they became The Rocking Horse Winner.

6. A punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois comprised of Dewayne Hankins, Michael Bush and Matt Kelm. They self-released one album titled "Wake Up to the Dream" in 2001 recorded by Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms) at Atlas Studios

7. A darkly tinged band from Minneapolis, MN, from the early 80s, featuring Scott Macdonald, later of Arcwelder.

8. A late 90s band from Minneapolis, MN featuring Chris Besinger, later of The Stnnng.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
