Loud Lucy

Loud Lucy began in a rural area in Illinois, when Christian Lane, met Tommy Furar. Lane who as a teenager lived in Peru, Illinois, met Furar who lived in near by Ogelsby, as the two entered High School. Lane was surprised that there was someone else wearing Beatles and The Who T-shirts. Lane and Furar became great friends and with the addition of a drummer, Loud Lucy was born.

The band took up practice, in an abandoned biker bar, which was owned by Lane's step-grandmother. Amidst this run down bar, full of glass shards and paint chippings the group practiced, improving their abilities as a band. Upon graduation from High School the band travelled north to the windy city of Chicago. There due to a series of drummer problems, Loud Lucy went in search of a new drummer and found Mark Doyle. With this addition in 1992 the band was complete.

They were signed with Geffen Records by 1995. They released Breathe in 1995 and broke up shortly after.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
