Mallu Magalhães is a folk singer from São Paulo who composes and sings mostly in English. She started composing at the age of 12.
Unknown until 2007, Mallu has quickly managed to cause a major commotion in the Brazilian music scene. Brazilian phenomenon, her MySpace page has had a record number of hits, her shows are selling out faster and faster and even the most ardent of critics seem to have been won over by the young girl, who has recorded an unusually charming version of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues.
