Maya Barsony was born in 1976. Her half brother is Arthur H. In 1993, she sang on the livre-CD, La chanson volée, with Piotr Barsony (her father) and the Bachibouzouk Band. In 1996 she sang with her first rock band, Riches et Pauvres. In 1999, she recorded her first solo album, which was released two years later. In 2000, she sang on another livre-CD, Tanbou, with Piotr Barsony, Edmony Krater and Jean-François Delfour. In 2001, her first solo album, Maya Barsony, was released by Inca records. In 2004, the Inca record label closed. The same year, she co-wrote (with her father) and sang on her third livre-CD, Papa porte une robe. In 2006, she signed with RCA. Maya sang the song "Fascination" for the 2007 film, La Vie En Rose (La Môme). She co-wrote her second solo album, Femme d'exterieur (2008), with Maxime Garoute and Johan Dalgaard.
