Moros Eros

Moros Eros was an alternative rock band which formed in Marietta, Georgia, United States in 2005. They consisted of Zach Tipton (lead vocals, guitar), DJ Schulz (bass), Chris Firebaugh (keyboards) and Bobby Theberge (drums). In December 2007, Schulz left the band to pursue other projects. The band broke up in April 2008 after two albums for Victory Records.

After moving to the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, GA, to live with his grandparents, singer/guitarist Zach Tipton started playing in a band with some new friends of his, drummer Bobby Theberge, keyboardist Chris Firebaugh, and an unnamed female vocalist. But Tipton soon grew tired of their dance-rock direction, prompting the crew to switch out their extra singer with bassist DJ Schulz, and the guys started playing a more grounded indie rock clattering under the name In Vitro. The quartet recorded the three-song EP I'm Dying But I Still Don't See Anything at the beginning of 2006, and by spring, they had inked a deal with Victory Records, a strange choice for the band as that label is known for releasing records by hardcore punk, emo and pop punk bands rather than straight up alternative bands. Almost as soon as the ink was dry, however, a French punk band was discovered that already had the rights to the name In Vitro, so the guys rechristened themselves Moros Eros. (Moros is both Greek for "impending doom" and the name of the god of night's son, while Eros is the Greek god of love. Draw your own conclusions.) Their verbosely titled label debut, I Saw the Devil Last Night and Now the Sun Shines Bright, was issued on Halloween 2006, with the single "Today is the Day" following soon after. The band issued their second record Jealous Me Was Killed By Curiosity in October 2007. However in early 2008, the band announced on their Myspace page that they had broken up.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
