MoZella is a solo soul/pop solo artist from Detroit, United States. At 15 she began to booking her own shows at local coffee houses in the Detroit area and one owner was impressed enough to ask if she wanted to perform there on a regular basis.
After graduating high school at 18 she headed for Los Angeles where she worked as a waitress and cake decorator at a bakery by day and wrote songs and performed in coffee houses at night. After several false starts, including a brief apprenticeship with rapper Warren G and a stint in London recording a demo with producer Tim Saul (Portishead), MoZella returned to L.A. and recorded a new demo. It found its way to Maverick’s A&R executives, who signed her at the end of 2003.
MoZella then began work on her debut album I Will (released 2006) with producer/songwriter Jude Cole and toured with Lifehouse, Dave Matthews Band, and Daniel Powter. In addition to this she released a self-titled EP in 2005 and has had her songs featured on television shows and in commercials.
Interesting fact: When Keifer Sutherland featured her song "Amazed" on his iTunes celebrity playlist in 2006 over 6000 singles were sold.
