Quietdrive

Quietdrive is a five-piece band hailing out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Band members Justin Bonhiver (guitar), Droo Hastings (bass), and Brandon Lanier (drums) went to high school and played in local bands together, including 'Fury.' Regrouping and forming Quietdrive in 2002, they added Kevin Truckenmiller (vocals, guitar, violin), and the group started playing a catchy, unique, alt-rock sound. Truckenmiller's side project at the time, 'Sneaker 2 Bombs,' featured college buddy Matt Kirby (back-up vocals, second guitar). In 2004, Quietdrive and S2B merged and called themselves 'Sneaker 2 Bombs.' Signed to Sony/Epic records in early 2005, the band once again changed their name, this time to 'The Never Ending,' but quickly made the permanent change back to 'Quietdrive.'

Quietdrive has toured all over the United States, playing both large and small venues, and entertaining audiences of all ages. They've worked and played with artists such as theAUDITION, Butch Walker, 311, Daphne Loves Derby, Dropping Daylight, The Underwater, etc.

Quietdrive's first major record on Epic Records, When All That's Left Is You, features tracks mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, and will be in stores May 30, 2006.

Says Quietdrive on www.quietdrivemusic.com: "The philosophy is simple: Create music that has a little something for everyone, that reaches inside of you and flexes your emotional muscle, add some wit and humor, and then with that music as a catalyst, build a movement of ordinary people, doing extraordinary things. This is honest music, its not dressed up or flashy, its real life, the good, the bad and everything in-between and quietdrive wants you to be a part of it."

Their cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" was featured in the movie John Tucker Must Die which came out in Australia on the 7th Sept 2006.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
