R Angels

R Angels were one of the many girl groups to emerge in the late 1990's/early 2000's, amidst The Spice Girls' success. Signed to Motown Records and made up of four young women named Gina, Vonnie, Dorothy & Lian, they released two singles, "I Need To Know" & "Left To Right", the former appearing on the soundtrack to the feauture film Stuart Little. Both singles were unsuccessful and their album never saw a proper release (although at one time pressings were available in seemingly random spots such as the Columbia House Music Club and can now be easily found at Amazon.com), and they soon split.

A couple of years later Dorothy and Lian auditioned for PopStars 2 (U.S.). Dorothy made it to the final group known as Scene 23. They were also unsuccessful and split after a short time.

Currently Vonnie fronts the metal band Fountain Of Tears, and the whereabouts of the other three women is unknown.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
