Rebecca Lynn Howard

Rebecca Lynn Howard born April 24, 1979 in Salyersville, Kentucky,(Maggofin County) USA is an American country music singer-songwriter. Her song, "Softly and Tenderly" appeared on the soundtrack of the 1997 movie, The Apostle. Nominated for the Academy of Country Music's 2003 Top New Female Vocalist award, as well as for Song of the Year for her stellar hit, "Forgive," Rebecca Lynn Howard's vocal and songwriting talents have drawn critical acclaim both within and outside the boundaries of country music. A prolific songwriter, Rebecca Lynn co-wrote her hit, "Forgive," as well as Trisha Yearwood's "I Don't Paint Myself Into Corners." She has also landed album cuts by John Michael Montgomery, Jessica Andrews, Lila McCann and others.

Howard's accolades also include winning two Grammy Awards - the first in 1998 for her recording of "Softly & Tenderly" for the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack to the Robert Duvall film, The Apostle. Howard earned her second Grammy in 2004 for "If I Could Only Win Your Love," a duet with Ronnie Dunn featured on the Grammy-winning album, Livin', Lovin' Losin' - Songs of the Louvin Brothers.

In 2001 Howard provided background harmony vocals on Dolly Parton's Little Sparrow album for the ballad "Mountain Angel".

In 2005, she was signed by Show Dog Nashville, the record label founded in that year by superstar country singer Toby Keith. Howard joined label-mates including Scotty Emerick on tour with Toby Keith in 2005.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
