River City Rebels

The River City Rebels are a rock and roll band that began in Vermont in the summer of 1999. Throughout multiple line up and stylistic changes, they have successfully managed to put out 5 albums. Originally on Victory Records, the band put out their first 4 albums. After a falling out and leaving Victory, the Rebels signed up with Rolling Thunder to record their 5th album in early 2006. "Keepsake of Luck" came out on Silver Sprocket on September 25, 2007. After parting with Rolling Thunder, the Rebels, no longer part of a label, independently recorded their 6th album, "In Love, Loveless," in Canaan, New Hampshire and Sarasota, FL.

The current line up consists of Dan O'Day and Brandon Rainer, who are the backbone of the band, not only being the longest standing members but Dan being the main songwriter and lead vocalist and Brandon playing keyboards, harmonica, trombone, singing backing vocals and writing the occasional song as well.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, T.Rex, Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, and The Rolling Stones, The River City Rebels seize "The true essence of rock and roll music," and shake the shit out of the non-believers!

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
