Rookie of the Year

Fayetteville, NC based-band Rookie of the Year began as a solo project by frontman and vocalist Ryan Dunson and over the past three years, has evolved into a collaborative effort and full band, thanks to the addition of guitarist Mike Kamerman and bassist, Pat Murphy. A band known for an extremely heavy touring schedule and electric must see shows, Rookie of The Year has made an indelible impression on the scene they came up in, playing numerous dates on the Vans Warped Tour, rocking out energetic sets at Bamboozle year after year, and building a loyal fan base one person and one city at a time. With the release of the debut LP “The Goodnight Moon”, in 2006, Rookie garnered incredible amounts of accolades from both fans and media, and solidified themselves among the masses as the “Hardest Working Band” in music.

With he band’s sophomore effort, “Sweet Attention”, Rookie has refined their songwriting and sonic skills, offering an ear pleasing pallet of sounds that will greatly expand the ranks of their already loyal and rabid fan base. And today with over 7 million plays at MySpace.com and major national tours with artists like Secondhand Serenade, Cute Is What We Aim For, MEST, Quietdrive, and The Spill Canvas under their belts, it’s pretty clear that Rookie of The Year is set to break out! We expect you and the rest of the world will be paying attention!

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
