There are FOUR bands named The Royal We with self-titled albums.
1. Dylan Kennedy formed a solo music Project called The Royal We, releasing a debut EP called A New Sunrise in 2004 featuring guest musicians from Scumbucket and Blackmail. In 2005, Dylan released a full length Album titled The Royal We with fixed band members Benny Rubertus, Thomas Heinz, Miguel Ortiz-Caturani and Philipp Anton and featured guest musicians from Blackmail and Urlaub in Polen. The Royal We supported Elbow on the German leg of their Leaders of the Free World Tour. Unfortunately, in 2006, a Scottish band using the same name caused chaos in the German alternative music scene by releasing a self-titled debut album which led to the confusion of many fans, radio stations and music journalists.
2. The Royal We were a group from Glasgow, UK who cleverly mixed old school swing with modern indie. The group performed their last gig on the 5th November 2007, the same day on which they released their first album. Three members then formed the Sexy Kids, released a 7" and then formed Veronica Falls
3. The Royal We were a group from Asheville, NC that included guitarist Chris Tanfield. Tanfield now plays guitar and theremin and provides vocals for Asheville band Silver Machine.
4. Jeff Bridges has mentioned that this will be the name of his new band.
