Sanctity

Rooted deep in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Sanctity is Appalachian Metal. Having combined influences ranging from American metal bands like Megadeth and Killswitch Engage to European metal bands like In Flames and At the Gates, Sanctity has created something uniquely their own. Sanctity formed in early 2000 and soon found their identity fusing transcontinental musical styles.

After creating strong local buzz through powerful shows, Sanctity opened for Fear Factory and Trivium in late 2004. This show changed Sanctity forever. Matt Heafy (Trivium) saw something in this band and passed along their demo to Roadrunner Records, specifically A/R Monte Connor. The band was signed to Roadrunner in December 2005.

Sanctity has since toured with many heavy hitters in the metal community, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Trivium, Arch Enemy, and Opeth to name a few. The band released 'Road to Bloodshed' in April 2007 and is currently a baby band on Roadrunner Records.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
