The Scenic

The Scenic Hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, the pop indie-rock quintet boast a talented and inspired group of musicians second to none. The current lineup formed just before the start of 2008 and released their first demo in January of this year. The demo’s have already received praise the from popular webzines such as AbsolutePunk.net and The Daily Chorus, and allowed the members of The Scenic to perform with such noteworthy acts as Saves The Day, All Time Low, Dashboard Confessional, Men Women & Children, and Houston Calls.
Vocalist Jeremy Menard is the frontman for this fun, quirky and energetic group that prides itself on hard work and relentless determination. Jeremy’s epic melodies combined with guitarist Dan Wolf’s pop-sensible songwriting have meshed better than anyone could have imagined. Rounding out the lineup is lead guitarist Jake Sciscio, and an energetic and solid rhythm section composed of drummer Shane Reynolds and bassist Frank Romantino.

“It’s just good ‘ole fashion rock and roll…” states Menard, “…with our own blend of pop and sex appeal!”

The Scenic have spent the majority of the winter writing songs for what the band envisions as its first full length album. The band has scheduled time to record the debut CD with Matt Malpass in Atlanta in May of 2008. The album will tap the full potential of the band’s ultra hip, pop song writing ability, and is expected to see the light of day sometime in the summer/fall of 2008.

Already sharing the stage with legendary acts, winning a stint on the Van’s Warped Tour, and national recognition from MTVu, the future for these twenty somethings seems to be limitless.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
