Sean Kingston

Kisean Jamal Anderson (born Feb 3, 1990 in Miami, Florida), better known by his stage name Sean Kingston, is an American-Jamaican reggae fusion singer.

Music career

In a joint venture between Epic Records and Koch Records, Kingston recorded and released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007.[2] The single, based on the bass line and lyrical "association" of the 1961 hit "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and topped the UK Singles Chart along with many other international charts. Similarly, the song "Me Love" is a loose derivative work of Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Mak'er", from their 1973 album Houses of the Holy. The song also debuted at number one in Australia, where it knocked off Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry which had been at number one for nine weeks. The song stayed on the Canadian Hot 100 number one spot for over six weeks before getting knocked down to third place by the Plain White T's. "Beautiful Girls" remained at number one in Canada longer than any other song in 2007. In 2007, Kingston was the opening act for Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape Tour and for select dates on Beyonce's The Beyonce Experience Tour.
In 2008 he collaborated on Flo Rida's album Mail on Sunday, as a featuring in the track titled Roll, which reached #61 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In early 2009, Kingston released the lead single from his sophomore album. The single, "I'm At War" featuring Lil Wayne, did not gain any mainstream success, and therefore was dubbed as a "promo single". In April, 2009, Kingston released the official lead single from his sophomore album. His newest single, "Fire Burning" was released on April 24, 2009, and has peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single is the lead single from his forthcoming album Tomorrow which is set to be released on September 22, 2009. On July 28, 2009, he released another single from the album, "My Girlfriend". On August 4, 2009, the third single from the album, "Wrap U Around Me (feat. T.I.)", was released.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
