Shiny Toy Guns

Shiny Toy Guns is an alternative/electronic band which formed in Los Angeles, California, United States in 2003. The band currently consists of Sisely Treasure (vocals), Gregori Chad Petree (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Dawson (synths, bass) and Mike Martin (drums). Former vocalist Carah Faye Charnow left the band on unknown circumstances in 2008 to be replaced by Treasure.

Gregori Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson grew up in Oklahoma and were involved in previous music projects together, including the soundtrack for the videogame Grand Theft Auto III in 2000. After relocating to Los Angeles, California, the two recruited vocalist Carah Faye Charnow and drummer Mike Martin. Many have compared their sound to New Order. Popular songs include Don't Cry Out, You Are the One, Le Disko and a remake of "Puttin' on the Ritz" that they simply titled Ritz. The group has gained popularity recently and even appeared on David Letterman in late 2006.

The band's second studio album, Season of Poison, is slated for release on 4th November 2008. It will feature vocalist Sisely Treasure (formerly of Cooler Kids), who replaces Carah Faye Charnow.

Shiny Toy Guns UK debut single is "You Are the One", which was released on 23rd April 2007. Their latest single, Ricochet!, is due to be released on 2nd September 2008.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
