Sponge was an alternative/hard rock band from Detroit, active in the mid to late 90's. The band blew into the national music scene in 1994 with their debut album Rotting Piñata, which featured possibly their biggest hits in Plowed and Molly (16 Candles). Their highly anticipated follow up album was released in 1996 and did not disappoint fans, as it contained the smash title track Wax Ecstatic and well known tune Have You Seen Mary.
