The Springs

The Springs, ages 19 to 22, won the New Music Awards "Country New Group of the Year" for 2009, and Nashville's ICM "Youth Artist of The Year" in 2008. They are one of the nominees, along with Sugarland, Steel Magnolia, and Lady Antebellum, for this years "Country Group of the Year", at the New Music Awards in LA. The Springs have been touring for over four years now, and have opened for Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Reba and 50 other major acts, at shows all over the US. The band has charted three songs on the main Country Music Row chart, thus far, had a #5 and #6 on the main Country New Music Weekly chart, as well as having four #1's on the "Christian Country" charts.

Their first CD is for sale at the Walmart stores, and their new one has 17 songs that the bands 21 year old singer, Stewart, wrote. This is the same young man who won one of the "Star Search" competitions when he was just 16. Hire The Springs now at a low cost, before they are signed to a major record deal. With five amazing band members, and the old man being just 22, their High Energy concerts are a combination of great cover songs, that everyone knows and sings along with, to their own brand of Country Music. What tells the real story of their talents, is that every venue they played at in 2008 and 2009, they were asked back for in 2010, playing over 200 shows.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
