K. FLAY Hits the Road Supporting Theophilus London

New Release, EYES SHUT, Due Out January 31st

“A fascinating, complicated rhyme maven: anxious yet strong willed, simultaneously listless and driven, brilliantly literate but not too highfalutin to salute her favorite TV shows.” – Dazed & Confused

“She's become one of hip-hop's most intriguing new talents” – LA Weekly

“The focus is on neuroses, internal dialogues, everyday life, the parties and problems that dominate life when you are in your early 20s. Though her K.Flay material is plenty serious, it's also irreverent and bouncy. Listening, it's hard to believe that Flaherty has so few years of musical experience — she's already putting her production skills to work doing remixes for indie and dance acts.” – Jessica Hopper, Chicago Tribune

“San Francisco’s K. Flay is the next big thing in hip hop.” – NME

Genre-defying rapper/singer/songwriter K. Flay is taking her dynamite show on the road supporting Theophilus London through January and February. With a wit as quick as her rhymes, K. Flay is an artist to keep an eye on as we kick off the New Year. Toure at the New York Times just called her “more skilled and more interesting” than her peers – check out the feature HERE. K. Flay is also a methodical remixer – she arranged the official remix of the Beastie Boys’ “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” (featuring Santigold). Give it a listen HERE.

On stage, K.Flay is a one-woman whirlwind: whether she’s creating beats, singing, rapping or playing guitar, her intelligence and acerbic charm shine through. Her talents have led her to share the stage with artists including Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and 3OH!3, where she quickly won over audiences who hadn’t seen anything quite like her before. K. Flay has a new self-produced release coming down the pipe this month entitled Eyes Shut. A Chicago-native turned Stanford student, turned full time Brooklynite, she puts all her life experience, sarcasm, gripes, and humor into every meticulously crafted verse. Her first single, “We Hate Everyone” came out just in time for the holidays to serve as the anti-Christmas carol with its clever, stinging chorus and churning verses . Tracks like “Sunburn” and “Stop Focus” are windows down, sunglasses on jams showcasing her ultra-fast rapping ability and her brilliant lyrical prowess. K. Flay truly establishes herself in a class of her own with this remarkably on point collection. Check out her track “We Hate Everyone” HERE.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
