THE STEELDRIVERS BRING HARD DRIVEN BLUEGRASS TO NPR'S MOUNTAIN STAGE
The SteelDrivers, the distinctive combo who uniquely meld back-country high lonesome and Delta soul, bring their sound to NPR's Mountain Stage this coming Fri.,Oct. 15th. New vocalist Gary Nichols will be performing with the the band and this is a great chance for fans to hear the new addition.

The following week the set will be posted at NPR.org/mountainstage and archived. After two weeks the show is available as a podcast in the archives section at www.mountainstage.org.

Their appearance celebrates Reckless, their much anticipated follow up to their acclaimed Rounder Records' self-titled 2008 debut, entered Billboard's Bluegrass Chart at #2, behind Dierks Bentley, after only one week of release. The new release features the original line up of Mike Henderson, Chris Stapleton, Richard Bailey, Tammy Rogers and Mike Fleming.
The SteelDrivers seemed to have come out of nowhere when they released their debut, they weren't like any other bluegrass band. They sounded like nobody else.
The question everyone has asked since the combo hit the scene, earning tons of accolades from the media and nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association, The American Music Association and even a Grammy nomination, is, can they repeat themselves? Will the 12 new songs still shake the listener with a sound traveling the road from the Old Home Place to the Home of the Blues? The answer is a simple yes. They are still that good - delivering a dozen great songs sung and played with scorched earth passion by the now road-tested band.

Reckless is the next step on The SteelDrivers' map as they continue to push beyond the boundaries of modern bluegrass.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
