Nashville, TN - October 20, 2010 - Laura Dodd came unglued last Thursday night at the 16th Annual ICM Awards, when her name was announced for New Artist Of The Year. She gave many thanks for her success, but it is evident, being around Laura, that she above all gives credit to God for her talent. As she let all emotions out of her spirit and soul, it was apparent that she never in her wildest dreams thought she would win ICM New Artist Of The Year.
Laura kicked off ICM Week by opening for CrossCountry the Band and Buddy Jewell on Sunday, October 10th. She hosted the Talent Contest, which was won by the McDougal Kids, and wowed the audience during her showcase on Tuesday night.
Laura's current single, "Spread My Wings," reached number 18 on the Power Source Christian Country chart and number 27 on the Country chart. She will be filming a video for this hit single, on Friday, October 22nd.
Laura is also involved in an organization very near and dear to her heart, VSA -The International Organization on Arts and Disability. VSA is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1969 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith to create a society where people with disabilities learn through, participate in, and enjoy the arts.
