Posted on Tue, Oct 26, 2010 at 1:46 PM

All this week, NPR Music is offering an advance album stream of the upcoming self-titled debut album from Black Dub. Black Dub is available for free, on-demand listening now until its release on November 2 at NPR Music as part of the site's "First Listen" series.

"I Believe In You," the first single from Black Dub, is available for free download at the Black Dub Facebook Page.

Black Dub is an exhilarating new group led by celebrated guitarist and producer Daniel Lanois (Brian Eno, U2, Neil Young, Bob Dylan), featuring the powerful vocals of Trixie Whitley. Trixie is the Belgium-born daughter of the late, great bluesman Chris Whitley.

Black Dub appeared at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York last week, for special duo performances, featuring Lanois and Whitley. Their awe-striking set at Rockwood Music Hall on Saturday, October 23 was plugged in The New York Times. The full band will be on tour this fall, kicking off a run of Black Dub US dates in Boston at The Paradise on November 15.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
