Grammy Award winner Ricky Skaggs has announced the first dates of his 2011 Treasure Chest Tour. This tour will feature all things old and new, including a mix of Skaggs’ classic country hits as well as a collection of his famous bluegrass tunes. The tour kicks off in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on March 18, with additional dates to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

"I think fans will really love the fact that I'm taking a full country band out on the road to do '(Honey) Open That Door,' 'You've Got a Lover' ... 'Uncle Pen,' 'Highway 40 Blues,' and things like that” explains Skaggs. “We’ll be able to do those with the country sound and then do the 'blazing bluegrass' that we've been known for since '97, and then do those new songs from Mosaic. I think it's going to be a great show, a great tour, and people are getting really excited about it, so we're excited about it."

2011 Treasure Chest Tour dates:

March 18 Prestonsburg, KY
March 19 Shelby, NC
May 15 Black Mountain, NC
June 23 Boston, MA
June 24 Boston, MA

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
