Legendary bands collaborate for album, theme song for Bonnaroo festival Letterman performance July 19th

New Orleans music giants, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, recently joined forces on the album American Legacies. This one of a kind collaboration between two bands that represents the rich catalog of American music was released on April 12th and has received rave reviews.

The Del McCoury Band & The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be performing together at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, being held this weekend in Manchester, TN. In commemoration of this event, the band was commissioned by the Bonnaroo organizers to write a theme song for the event. The end result, "Bonnaroo (Feel the Magic)" is an upbeat song that captures the spirit of the music festival.

In addition to rocking the Bonnaroo stage this weekend, the bands recently completed a joint tour and will be performing songs from American Legacies on Late Night with David Letterman on July 19th. The American Legacies album and the Del McCoury Band and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band joint tour has received plenty of attention for its remarkable combination of traditions. Whether they're tackling a decades-old standard or a new composition, these two groups bring fierce musicianship, deep respect and a rollicking good humor to the musical table in a way that makes the joy of the encounter unmistakable.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
