Posted on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:21 PM

Fresh off a successful gig at the NXNE festival in Toronto this past weekend, Ivan & Alyosha are happy to announce newly added summer tour dates in July and August with Brandi Carlile, as well as appearances at the Midpoint and Pygmalion music festivals in September. The Seattle band are currently on the road in the North East, taking part in New York City's iconic River to River festival twice this week before heading south for shows in Georgia and Tennessee.

Fans of Ivan & Alyosha will have a few chances to catch the band live on the air as well. Today June 20th, Ivan & Alyosha make several appearances on renowned NYC station WFUV, including an interview with Claudia Marshall at 4:45 pm EST, and their Studio A Performance airing at 9 pm EST. On Wednesday June 22nd they perform live on WNYC Soundcheck at 2 pm EST.

Since the release of their new EP Fathers Be Kind, in February the band have gained recognition from American Songwriter, Alarm, and Brooklyn Vegan, have been featured as a band "On The Verge" in Relix, and have performed for Daytrotter, NPR Tiny Desk, and IFC. Most recently Ivan & Alyosha gave a stirring performance at NPR's Mountain Stage. "Beatles-esque harmonies and infectious guitar hooks abound in the group's four-song Mountain Stage set" wrote NPR of the appearance.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
