MARQUES TOLIVER ANNOUNCES US TOUR DATES
WITH LIAM FINN

DEBUT EP BUTTERFLIES ARE NOT FREE
TO BE RELEASED ON VINYL SEPTEMBER 13TH

Marques Toliver returns to North America this fall for a month long tour with Liam Finn. He will be out on the road playing songs from his debut EP Butterflies Are Not Free (Bella Union), which will be released on 12" vinyl on September 13th (available for pre-order here). The 12" release also comes with a download code for the demo version of the song "White Sails". The upcoming dates follow a busy summer that included multiple festival appearances across the UK, Europe, and Australia, as well as dates on the road with Wild Beasts and James Blake.

"Half soul crooner and half Suzuki-schooled classical whiz kid, Toliver's music elegantly bridges the seemingly disparate worlds of classical music and pop R&B."
- NPR's World Café

Marques Toliver's music has been met with a warm reception, drawing interest and praise from critics as well as fellow musicians including Adele and TV on The Radio. While Toliver seemed to burst onto the scenes in the UK with an arresting performance on Later With Jools Holland, the story behind Butterflies Are Not Free begins many years ago in Florida. Growing up in Daytona Beach, the young Toliver was clearly a prodigious talent, and escaped his family's grave digging business by entering into Stetson University's Music School to train as a Classical Violinist. Frustrated in the institution, and keen to throw himself into the real world of music making, Marques traveled to New York City.

Through busking in subways, and working in a vintage shop in Brooklyn, he quickly made friends with fellow artists, and was soon playing live and on record with the likes of TV on The Radio, Holly Miranda, and Grizzly Bear. It was a fateful trip to the UK as part of Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson's band that landed him as a resident of London three years ago, where he continued to busk and make friends in the music community. A few different cities, a violin case filled with change and dollar bills, a change of continents, and his long road eventually lead toButterflies Are Not Free, released this past April via Bella Union, and due out on Vinyl "12 on September 13th.

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
