Matisyahu Announces Sixth Annual “Festival of Light”

Commencing on December 19th in Brooklyn, NY!

Fresh off his 70-date worldwide tour this summer, Grammy-nominated artist Matisyahu will be hitting the road this December on his sixth annual Festival of Light tour with the critically acclaimed Brooklyn based Dub Trio as his band, including a three night stint at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (where he holds the record for the artist with the most sold-out shows at the venue) as well as performances in Philadelphia, and DC. Tickets for the Festival of Light tour are on sale October 5.

In keeping up with the Festival of Light tradition, fans can expect a very diverse group of support acts and special guests to be a part of these shows. Known for never performing the same show twice, Matisyahu has created a custom-built live experience for his audiences and continues to bring the Festival of Light through Hannukah and the surrounding dates.

Matisyahu will perform songs from all of his albums including his most recent Live at Stubb’s Vol. II. Five years after creating an indelible mark on the U.S.’ musical consciousness with the release of his groundbreaking live album, Live at Stubb’s, Matisyahu returned to famed Austin, TX venue with his band the Dub Trio for an unfortgettable music experience. The collection was released as a DVD/VD and holds a special meaning for him and his devoted fans.

Praise for Matisyahu’s live shows:

“His skillful signature beat-boxing wove between fast raps and his very powerful singing voice filled the room. Many of his choruses seemed like chants, entrancing the crowd.” –Relix

“Matisyahu led the audience into the magic of his voice creating the connection that would unify the stage and floor throughout the rest of the evening.”-Examiner.com

“The show was a well-executed showcase of the sounds and styles of Matisyahu, an artist with his roots firmly planted in his faith and in reggae but with an unending desire to grow and develop as a musician.” –Riverfront Times
“His live performances are a deep gaze into the psychedelic abyss that is as much Dark Side of the Moon as it is No Woman No Cry.” –Boise Weekly

‘Music City 411- Robin Gibb Tribute

By: Andrew Vaughan

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the pain Robin Gibb’s family is going through right now. The Bee Gees singer is in a coma after suffering with liver cancer and most recently pneumonia. Of course, several big name pop acts have passed away recently- Davy Jones of The Monkees probably the most recent. Now I knew Davy to talk to but I’d never met his family. Which is why hearing about the Gibb family’s pain surrounding Robin is so difficult to handle.
