I am used to working on a Macintosh computer and the intuitive nature it offers the user. I did not find the set-up process for my online account with you to be intuitive. It should be much easier to add photos for a profile and to share as much or as little as one wants to in one's profile. For example, I finally figured out that one needs to set up an online photo folder. I was never able to click on a photo residing on my desktop to add to my account. I kept getting the proverbial spinning ball. Maybe you have a preferred browser? I did try with Safari, Firefox and Google. I was finally able to set up a folder logging in through Safari and complete the set up process.

I would also like to understand how you will protect our identities on your site given the proliferation of identity theft in our culture today.

Thanks for helping us work through these Beta testing steps. As I mentioned in my e-mail to you yesterday, there are a number of issues that can affect the speed at which images upload, and we're on the case.

The security certificate we have on the site has been tested and is far above standard.

Thanks again for making a post to describe the issue(s) you were seeing. It really helps to learn the details about what folks see and what OS and browser they use so that we can recreate the bug and look for a fix.

We have had reports of some users/browsers not being able to upload images for the their avatars, cover photos, groups, etc. One user reported that if they create a photo album manually and upload photos from there they can select them for their avatar, but this is a workaround and not the intended behavior. Luckily, I have found the root cause with photo uploads issue on certain browsers and a fix should be coming soon! The intended mechanism for sharing photos and uploading avatars is quite good and when the fix is in place you should see it working normally.

On the privacy note, we use full-site encryption through a verified and externally signed SSL certificate. We have had the security mechanisms in this certificate verified by a 3rd party and been given an "A" rating. This is par for the course nowadays, as most sites are moving to full encryption standards (you should see the lock icon appear next to the URL at the top of the browser). Additionally, profile items have a privacy control to limit what other users can see and not see about you. Log in, click "Edit Profile" and for each item off to the right you should see the privacy control. Also, when posting or sharing photos and videos to your timeline, the share button has a privacy control to limit who can see your post.

I hope this helps, thanks again!
