Creative Ideas for Goblin Names?

    Hi everyone!

I’m currently working on a fantasy story/game and I want my goblin characters to have names that feel authentic, quirky, and memorable. I’m struggling to strike the right balance between something funny, mischievous, or even slightly sinister without being too over-the-top.

I’ve thought of names like “Snaggletooth” or “Gribble,” but I feel like I need more variety. Do you have tips for creating goblin names that really capture their personality? Or even lists of names you’ve invented or encountered that work well for goblins?

    Any advice would be awesome!

Hey! For goblin names, I usually like mixing harsh, clipped sounds with quirky or funny endings. Think consonant-heavy starts like “Gr-,” “Sn-,” “Kr-,” or “Zl-” paired with endings like “-ik,” “-muk,” “-toof,” or “-snag.” When brainstorming goblin names, it can help to reflect their personality: sneaky goblins might be “Slither” or “Nibs,” while grumpy ones could be “Gnash” or “Bristle.” Some ideas: Gribble, Snarkle, Krunk, Zlavo, Mucknob, Fizzgut, Runtz, Gnasher, Trogmuk, Pibble. Mixing sounds and meaning tends to create names that are fun, memorable, and feel authentic.
