    Uses:
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication used to treat various parasitic worm infections. It is effective against roundworms, tapeworms, pinworms, hookworms, whipworms, and threadworms. Common conditions treated include Neurocysticercosis (caused by pork tapeworm larvae in the brain), hydatid disease (caused by dog tapeworm), giardiasis, and strongyloidiasis. Albendazole works by inhibiting the worms’ glucose uptake, eventually causing their death. Medzsupplier is Leading Albendazole Wholesaler, supplier and exporter.

    Dosage:
The dosage of Albendazole varies depending on the infection type and patient’s age and weight. For most intestinal worm infections in adults and children over 2 years, a single 400 mg dose is common. For children aged 1–2 years, 200 mg is typically prescribed. More severe infections like neurocysticercosis or hydatid disease require higher doses (15 mg/kg/day) split into two doses for 8–30 days, as advised by a doctor. Albendazole should be taken with food to enhance absorption.

    Side Effects:
Albendazole is generally well-tolerated. Mild side effects may include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, or temporary hair loss. Serious side effects are rare but may include liver enzyme elevation, bone marrow suppression (low blood cell counts), or allergic reactions like rash or itching. Long-term or high-dose use requires monitoring of liver function and blood counts.

    Precautions:
Albendazole should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, unless absolutely necessary. Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least one month after. Patients with liver disease should consult their doctor before use.

Albendazole is a potent and effective treatment when used correctly under medical guidance.
