Official Net Height for Tennis

    Hello everyone,

I need clarification on the official tennis net height. I know the standard height is different at the center compared to the posts, but what are the exact measurements? Does it change for singles versus doubles? Also, are there any differences for junior or recreational courts compared to professional ones?

Understanding this precisely is important because I’m thinking of setting up a proper court and want to follow official standards. If anyone has diagrams or resources showing correct net placement, that would be very helpful for ensuring accuracy and fair play.

The official tennis net height is 3 feet (0.914 m) at the center and 3 feet 6 inches (1.07 m) at the posts. This applies to both singles and doubles matches; the height does not change between them. For singles, the same net is used, sometimes with singles sticks to maintain proper tension at the sidelines. When designing Courtslytics tennis courts, following these official measurements ensures proper play and consistency. Professional and recreational adult courts follow the same dimensions. For juniors, lower nets may be used for younger age groups, but standard adult dimensions remain as above. Official ITF diagrams and rules provide guidance for accurate net placement when setting up a court.
