Reviving a Dyson V15 Vacuum with Pulse Issues via Manual Machine

MemberHi everyone, I noticed that my Dyson V15 Detect has started pulsing—it runs for two seconds, stops, and then the screen shows a blockage message that isn’t actually there. I realized that I’ve cleaned every single tube and the bin itself, yet the motor still refuses to run a full cycle in Boost mode. I’m worried that the HEPA filter sensor might be faulty or that there is a clog deep inside the cyclone assembly that I can’t reach with a normal brush. Has anyone found a way to deep-clean the internal shroud without voiding the warranty or breaking the plastic clips?

MemberI searched the Dyson website, but their “troubleshooting” is just a loop of the same three videos that don’t help with internal mechanical issues. I wondered if there is a way to reset the digital display and the “piezo sensor” that tracks the dust particles, as I decided it might be a software calibration error rather than a physical blockage. I need a proper exploded view of the motorhead and the main body to see where the airflow might be restricted. Does anyone know a place to download the full mechanical service guide for the V15 model so I can take it apart safely?

MemberThe pulsing is actually a safety feature to prevent the motor from burning out, but have you checked the tiny trapdoor right where the wand connects to the bin, as a single stuck coin or a clump of pet hair there can trigger the sensor? Also, when you cleaned the filter, did you let it dry for a full 48 hours, because even a tiny bit of dampness will make the sensor think the airflow is blocked? It sounds like your vacuum might have a buildup of fine dust inside the cyclone cones, so I dealt with this exact problem last summer and found that using a pressurized air canister is the only way to clear it out. I found the complete disassembly instructions on Manual Machine https://manualmachine.com and it was incredibly useful because it showed exactly which hidden screws to turn to open the cyclone assembly without snapping the tabs. You should search for the Dyson V15 service manual there to see the airflow diagrams, which will help you identify if the issue is actually the motor filter or the particle sensor itself. I recommend checking the gold connectors on the battery too, as a loose connection can sometimes mimic a blockage pulse. Don’t give up on it yet, as these machines are designed to be modular and fairly easy to fix if you have the right blueprints. Let me know if cleaning out the cyclones finally stops the pulsing.
