Bio

With six Detroit Music Awards to her name including Outstanding Country Songwriter for 2016, Julianne Ankley has cemented herself in the Detroit and Michigan music scenes as a major talent and one of the hardest working country artists in the midwest.

Julianne has been writing heartfelt songs and delivering electric performances, both solo and with her band The Rogues, for years. Her third solo Album “Don’t Let Go” was released in August 2015 at the Ark Theater in Ann Arbor, MI. Her sophomore album “Vivid" garnered the 2012 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Country Recording and lead to the use of her song “Lead Footin’ In the Left Lane" nationally by WXYZ (ABC) for the 2015 annual Woodward Dream Cruise televised special. From her debut solo album “No Place For a Lullabye” was used by HomeAid of America in their PSA campaign to raise funds for housing the homeless.

2016 has Julianne writing with Platinum hit songwriter, Gary Hannan, for his Road Warrior Tour in support of veterans. They will be touring to England and France, and nationally in the US. She has also been writing with Michigan Emmy winning songwriter, Michelle Chenard, and will be touring nationally as Ankley and Chenard. Julianne continues to perform with her top notch band, the Rogues as well. (See the "shows" page at JulianneAnkley.com for upcoming events!)

She has also been the celebrity host and performer for the Hard Rock Cafe stages in Nashville during the CMA Fest, and continues to perform occasionally at Nashville’s world-famous Bluebird Cafe, the Listening Room, Tootsie’s, and more.

"The best of Detroit Country Music shines through in this relevant and very poignant song from a present day soldier’s mother's point of view. 'He's Still My Boy' is a well-written piece of American pie that really hits home. Our heroes give of themselves every day and their families pay just as big of a price and that is what this song is all about. Julianne can sing and she can ever more write a good song. When I read about this on Twitter I downloaded it right away. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!" – Joe Bonsall / Oak Ridge Boys

Julianne continues to perform the national anthem for numerous sporting teams, including the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, the Toledo Mud Hens, and belted out nine seasons (2002-2010) as the anthem "Voice of the Icehawks" for the Port Huron IHL hockey team.
