Bio of Michael du Preez
I have been a professional pianist/singer/writer most of his life with an eight year stint in the Variety Department of the SABC as a writer/producer during which time I wrote, produced and broadcast more than a hundred TV shows.

McGraw-Hill published my first ‘how to’ booklet entitled, ‘Television through the Front Door’. I subsequently co-wrote two Light Music Textbooks entitled, ‘A Comprehensive Guide to Improvisation, Composition and Arranging’, Part 1 and Part 2. Commissioned by the Department of Education in South Africa these textbooks are currently in use in some high schools. Included in these volumes is a stand-alone, Teach Yourself Basic Music Literacy.

I have also written a true life, dramatized novel entitled, ‘Forty-five Babies’. My Teen adventure novel entitled, ‘Justice of the Wild’, is published by Faraxa, Malta and ready for release. In the meantime, I am halfway through my second Crossover Fantasy Adventure Novel entitled, ‘Carruthers’.

I have completed ghost writing a memoir for an American friend and client entitled, ‘My Life in Two Chapters.’

I have composed many Gospel and other songs plus two full length Cantatas. ‘The Sermon on the Mount’ performed several times by the Johannesburg Chamber Choir and ‘No Ordinary Man’, a forty-five minute composition performed several times locally as well as in Canada and on Gozo, Malta. I composed the music for a full length South African Rock Opera entitled, ‘A Different Dance’ for which I am seeking a publisher/producer, plus a full-length musical, ‘Island of Enchantment’ based on Homer’s Odyssey.

I have recorded four Piano Albums, entitled ‘In Casual Style’ for Background Piano Music.
