Bio

TED Boyce is the lead singer, bass player, and songwriter of TED & theStartup. Having grown up in America's epicenter of Rock, Gainesville Florida, TED has played alongside of other Gainesville greats such as Ken Block from Sister Hazel and Nashville's Britton and Jack. TEDs formal musical training includes time at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music which ultimately led to a Bachelor of Music in performance at the University of Florida. Live playing experience and formal training has allowed TED to tour the globe as a working musician playing; jazz, rock, and pop for many years before deciding to concentrate on his original music starting in 2002. TED life experiences has led him to write such notable tunes as Jealousy and Hollywood Sign which were released in the EP "Free Admission" under the group name the Famous Wannabes. TED relocated to San Francisco in 2008 from Reno, and began organizing a new Band, TED & theStartup. Their self-titled album was released on iTunes in January 2016. TED summarizes his desire to play music this way: "Music was my first career. Combined with my experience in performance, delivering keynotes and teaching adults, I am able to create an environment where people can be entertained and enjoy their learning experience. Fun and memorable content is what we are all about. Played by request only, we use this philosophy to perform mash up versions of some classic covers as well." Their Dynamic Duo configuration (think White Stripes or Royal Blood) sounds polished and produced. Concert goers are entertained and left with the question “How did they do that?!”
