Does gamification actually work for SaaS engagement?

Greetings guys. We’re considering adding gamification elements like missions and badges, but I’m not sure if it’s just a buzzword or if it really makes a difference. I’d love to hear from someone who’s tried it – did it increase engagement or just add fluff?
Hello. It definitely works when done right. We introduced missions and reward loops using Enable3, and engagement shot up within a few weeks. It turned our passive users into active ones. The best part – no coding, everything was ready to go out of the box.
