Insurance approved shop or my own choice, which is actually better for the repair?
I had a proper accident last month, someone turned across me and hit the front corner, insurance accepted liability so the repair is covered, but now I’m stuck on whether to use the shop my insurer is pushing me toward or find my own and fight for it. The insurer’s shop is convenient and they handle all the paperwork, but I’ve heard stories of them using cheaper parts or rushing jobs to keep costs down, and I don’t want a repair that looks fine at first but causes problems later. A friend mentioned a Certified accident repair body shop in Khalifa City that apparently does insurance work too but is more thorough, and it got me wondering whether I even have the right to choose. My questions are whether I can insist on my own shop when insurance is paying, what the difference is between approved and non approved shops in terms of parts and warranty, and whether choosing my own creates delays or extra paperwork I’d have to handle myself. Also how do I check that a shop actually does proper structural repairs if needed rather than just cosmetic work?
