Seller says the car just had a major service, should I still get it checked?

The seller of this Continental GT I’m looking at keeps telling me it just had a big service and everything is sorted, and he’s even got the receipts to prove it. That should reassure me, but it doesn’t fully, because a service doesn’t tell you about accident history or whether something expensive is on its way out. A mate mentioned you can get a Pre owned Bentley condition report in Umm Suqeim that goes way beyond a normal service check, and now I’m wondering if I’m being paranoid or sensible. The car isn’t cheap and I don’t want to be the guy who buys on a good story and regrets it six months later. Has anyone had a report done on a car that supposedly had nothing wrong with it? Did it come back clean or did it surprise you? I’d rather spend a bit now than find out the hard way.
